This page has a full step-by-step guide so you can apply to the embassy on your own. But one mistake on the form, a missing translation, or a weak financial file can cost you the visa. Call us first — your consultation is free. We review your case, prepare the complete file with correct forms, certified translation, and embassy-grade travel insurance, and coach you for the interview — so when you submit, your file is at its strongest. The visa decision and issue date rest solely with the embassy.

We start with carefully completing the DS-160 form, book your interview at the US Embassy in Riyadh or one of the consulates (Jeddah, Dhahran), and prepare you for the interview through to a successful visa issuance.

Application steps
  1. Choose the right US visa type

Start by identifying the visa category that matches your purpose of travel — tourism/visit (B-2), business (B-1), medical, study (F/M), exchange (J), or work. For tourism and business the unified B1/B2 visa is sufficient. Review the Visa section of the US Embassy in Riyadh and use the official Visa Wizard tool to pick the category that fits your case.

  2. Fill the DS-160 online form

Open the official DS-160 portal on CEAC, complete the form fully in English, and upload a photo taken in the last 6 months meeting the B-Visa specifications. Choose the embassy/consulate where the interview will take place (Riyadh, Jeddah, or Dhahran) — the appointment system later locks to this choice. For more information see the DS-160 guide for Saudi Arabia. Save the barcode from your confirmation page — it is required for booking the appointment.

  3. Create a USTravelDocs account and pay the MRV fee

Visit the USTravelDocs portal for Saudi Arabia and create an account, then pay the MRV fee (160 USD for B1/B2 visitor visas) through approved channels (SADAD, bank transfer, etc.). The receipt unlocks the option to book the biometrics and interview appointments.

  4. Book the biometrics appointment (OFC) then the interview

Inside your USTravelDocs account, book two consecutive appointments:
    1. A biometrics appointment at the Offsite Facilitation Centre (OFC) in Riyadh, Jeddah, or Dhahran.
    2. The personal interview at the relevant embassy or consulate.
Wait times can vary widely by season, so book early. Some categories (prior renewals, specific age groups) may qualify for an interview waiver per updates on the embassy website.

  5. Attend the biometrics appointment

Arrive at the OFC 15 minutes before your appointment. Bring your passport, DS-160 confirmation page, and OFC appointment receipt. Fingerprints and a face photo are taken. No additional fees are required at this stage.

  6. Attend the visa interview at the embassy

Attend the embassy or consulate at your scheduled time with:
    - Current passport plus any old passports.
    - Printed DS-160 confirmation page.
    - MRV payment receipt.
    - A backup photo at DS-160 specifications.
    - A letter explaining the purpose of your trip and travel plan.
    - Supporting documents (employer letter, bank statements, booking confirmations, etc.).
The interview is usually short (3–5 minutes) and the consular officer typically makes the decision on the spot.

  7. Receive the decision and your passport

If approved, the officer keeps your passport and it is returned via Aramex courier to the address registered in your USTravelDocs account within days to a few weeks depending on demand. The B1/B2 visa for Saudi nationals is typically issued for 5 years with multiple entries. If administrative processing is requested, the wait can extend by several weeks. Before travelling, check the visa data (name, number of entries, validity dates) and prepare your itinerary to present at CBP on arrival.

FAQ
  • How long is a US visa valid?

A B1/B2 visitor visa for Saudi nationals is typically issued for 5 years with multiple entries. The validity printed on the visa controls your re-entry to the US.

  • Can I travel with a US visa to other countries?

No — a US visa is country-specific and only allows entry to the United States. For other destinations you need their respective visas.

  • What is the most common reason for refusal?

Failing to convince the consular officer of your ties to Saudi Arabia, weak financial standing, incomplete documents, or inconsistencies in the DS-160. We strengthen your file before submission.

  • Is a personal interview required?

Yes — the consular interview is mandatory for most B1/B2 applicants. Some renewal cases may qualify for an interview waiver.

  • How long does processing take after the interview?

If approved, your passport is delivered via Aramex within days to a few weeks. If administrative processing is required, it can take several additional weeks.
