Is there a Lithuanian embassy in Saudi Arabia? No. Lithuania's embassy in Abu Dhabi covers Saudi Arabia, and there is an honorary consulate in Jeddah (Building 20, Ibrahim Adham Street, Al Hamra · +966 12 665 5525). Lithuania visas for Saudi residents are handled by the Hungarian Embassy in Riyadh, through the Hungary visa centres (VFS Global) in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.
Following the Lithuanian Embassy's published requirements, Trip Away provides Schengen visa consultation and interview preparation for travel to Lithuania and the rest of the Schengen Area (29 European countries) from Saudi Arabia. We review your file with you, walk you through applying at the Hungary visa centres (VFS Global) in Riyadh, Jeddah or Dammam, and explain each embassy's requirements. Final decisions rest with the Lithuanian Embassy.

Application steps
-
Choose the right Lithuania visa type
Start by identifying the visa category that matches your purpose of travel — tourism, family visit, business, medical, or study. Lithuania has no embassy in Saudi Arabia, so Hungary issues short-stay Schengen visas on its behalf to residents of Saudi Arabia. You apply through the Hungary visa centres (VFS Global), and the decision is made by the consular section of the Hungarian Embassy in Riyadh.
-
Create an account and fill the application
Register on the VFS Hungary portal, choose Lithuania as your main destination, and complete the Schengen application form online. Make sure your name, passport details, and travel dates match your original documents — formal errors in the form are one of the most common refusal reasons.
-
Prepare the required documents
Check the consular information of the Hungarian Embassy in Riyadh (Hungary's list applies to Lithuania too) and prepare:
- Passport valid for 3 months past departure, with two blank pages, issued within the last 10 years.
- Iqama copy (for residents) or Saudi national ID (for Saudi nationals).
- Bank statement stamped for the last 3 months.
- Letter from your employer + recent salary certificate.
- Round-trip flight booking and hotel reservation covering the entire stay.
- Schengen travel insurance with a minimum coverage of €30,000.
- Recent photo to Schengen specifications.
Make sure the file is complete; missing documents are a common cause of rejection at the appointment. -
Book the biometrics appointment at VFS Global
Book your appointment on the VFS Hungary portal at one of the three centres: Riyadh, Jeddah or Dammam. Book at least 15 days before you travel; you can apply up to 6 months ahead.
-
Attend the appointment and pay the fees
At your appointment ten-finger biometrics and a face photo are taken, the file is reviewed, and your passport is retained. The Schengen visa fee and the VFS service charge are paid at the centre. Biometrics are mandatory for anyone aged 12 and above.
-
Track processing at the Hungarian Embassy
Your file goes to the consular section of the Hungarian Embassy in Riyadh, which decides on the Lithuanian visa. The decision usually comes within 20 calendar days of the application reaching the embassy, plus up to 2 working days of courier time if you applied in Jeddah or Dammam; in exceptional cases it can take up to 45 days. For questions, email consular.ryd@mfa.gov.hu. Track your application with the VFS account you created when booking.
-
Collect your passport and visa
When the decision is issued, your passport is returned to the VFS centre where you applied. The visa shows Lithuania as your main destination even though the Hungarian Embassy processed it. Collect it in person with your ID, or request home delivery if available in your city. Before travelling, check the visa data (name, number of entries, validity dates) and keep copies of your bookings and insurance for the border.
