Application steps
  1. Choose the right UAE visa type

Start by identifying the visa category that matches your purpose of travel — Jordanian passport holders need a pre-approved visa for the UAE; visa-on-arrival is not available. Common categories include Tourist Visa (up to 30 days), Visit Visa (up to 90 days, sponsor-based), Transit, and longer-term residence routes. Refer to the official UAE government guide on visa requirements.

  2. Choose the right application channel

Depending on the destination Emirate and your situation, apply through one of the following:
    - For Dubai and the northern Emirates — GDRFA Dubai Smart Services or the GDRFA portal.
    - For Abu Dhabi and across the country — the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) UAEICP app or smartservices.icp.gov.ae.
    - Many airlines (Emirates, Etihad, flydubai) also offer visa application as part of ticket booking.

  3. Create an account and complete the form

Register on the chosen portal (GDRFA or ICP). Choose the appropriate visa product (Tourist or Visit Visa) and complete the form with passport, personal details, and travel data. Errors in the passport number or names lead to electronic rejection.

  4. Upload documents and pay the fees

    Upload digital copies of:
    - Passport bio data page (valid for at least 6 months from arrival).
    - Recent passport-sized photo.
    - For visit visas: sponsor's Emirates ID and a copy of the sponsor's passport/residence visa.
    - Round-trip ticket (or arrival ticket).
    - Hotel reservation if applying as a tourist.
Pay the visa fee online by card on the portal. Fees vary by category (Tourist around AED 250–350 single-entry 30-day).

  5. Receive the Entry Permit

The decision is typically issued within 3 to 5 business days, by email as a PDF (Entry Permit). The visa is valid for entry within 60 days of issue. Print it and present it on arrival.

  6. Track your application

Use the Track visa application and validity tool on the official UAE government platform to verify your visa status with passport number and nationality.

  7. On arrival in the UAE

Present your passport and the printed Entry Permit at the immigration counter at Dubai International Airport, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, or any other UAE port of entry. Facial biometrics and iris scans are taken at major airports. To extend your stay later, use the same GDRFA or ICP portal at least 10 days before expiry to avoid overstay fines.

FAQ
  • What is a Schengen visa?

A unified visa that allows entry to 29 European countries within the Schengen area on a single visa, with a stay of up to 90 days in any 180-day period.

  • How long is a Schengen visa valid?

Usually granted short-term (up to 3 months) with single or multiple entries. In some cases it can be issued for longer — up to 5 years.

  • Can I travel between Schengen countries on a single visa?

Yes, a Schengen visa allows entry to and free travel between all 27 Schengen countries with no extra visa required.

  • What is the most common reason for refusal?

Weak ties to Jordan, failing to convince the embassy you will return, weak financial standing, or incomplete documents. We strengthen your file before submission.

  • Does the application require a personal interview?

Usually not — most applications are decided on the documents. In special cases the embassy may request an interview.
