This page has a full step-by-step guide so you can apply to the embassy on your own. But one mistake on the form, a missing translation, or a weak financial file can cost you the visa. Call us first — your consultation is free. We review your case, prepare the complete file with correct forms, certified translation, and embassy-grade travel insurance, and coach you for the interview — so when you submit, your file is at its strongest. The visa decision and issue date rest solely with the embassy.

Trip Away offers Saudi nationals and residents in the Kingdom an Irish visa service. We prepare your file, book the biometrics appointment at VFS centres, and provide full consultation to improve approval chances — knowing the visa decision rests solely with the Irish Embassy.

Application steps
  1. Choose the right Irish visa type

Start by identifying the visa category that matches your purpose of travel — tourism, family visit, business, medical, or study. Note that Ireland is not part of the Schengen Area, so the Irish visa is independent of any Schengen visa. For visa categories see the visas section of the Embassy of Ireland in Riyadh and the Irish Immigration Service guide.

  2. Fill the application on AVATS

Open the official AVATS online system for Irish visas, create an account, and complete the application form in English. After completion, the system generates an Application Summary Sheet with a reference number — print and sign it, as it is required when you submit your file at VFS.

  3. Prepare the required documents

Review the official Irish visa document checklist from the Embassy of Ireland in Riyadh, and prepare:
    - Passport valid for 6 months past departure, with two blank pages.
    - Iqama copy (for residents) or Saudi national ID (for Saudi nationals).
    - Signed Application Summary Sheet from AVATS.
    - Recent photo to Irish visa specifications.
    - Bank statement stamped for the last 6 months.
    - Letter from your employer + recent salary certificate.
    - Round-trip flight booking and hotel reservation covering the entire stay.
    - Cover letter explaining the purpose of travel and trip plan, signed.
    - Invitation letter if the visit is family-related.
In-person attendance is mandatory at submission.

  4. Book the biometrics appointment at VFS

Book your appointment on the VFS Ireland portal in Saudi Arabia at one of the three centres:
    - Riyadh: visa centre in Al Hada, Makkah Road 8380.
    - Jeddah.
    - Khobar.
Application submission hours are Sunday to Thursday, 9 AM to 3 PM. For inquiries: info.irelandksa@vfshelpline.com.

  5. Attend the appointment and pay the fees

At your appointment ten-finger biometrics and a face photo are taken, the file is reviewed, and your passport is retained. The embassy fee (Visa Fee) and VFS service fee are paid at the centre in cash or by card. Biometrics are mandatory for anyone aged 5 and above. The procedure takes about 15–20 minutes inside the centre.

  6. Track processing at the Irish Embassy

Your file is referred to the visa section of the Embassy of Ireland in Riyadh for processing. Standard processing time for a visit visa is 3–4 weeks, and may extend in peak season or if additional documents are requested. Track your application via the VFS account you created at booking.

  7. Collect your passport and visa

When the decision is issued, your passport is returned to the VFS centre where you applied. Collect it in person with your ID, or request home delivery if available. The Irish visa is stickered into your passport and specifies the number of entries (Single / Multiple) and stay duration. Before travelling, check the visa data (name, number of entries, validity dates) and keep copies of your bookings and insurance for the border.

FAQ
  • How long is an Irish tourist visa valid?

Usually issued for short stays (90 days) with single or multiple entries depending on the case.

  • Is Ireland part of the Schengen area?

No, Ireland is not a Schengen Area member. The Irish visa is separate and independent.

  • What is the most common reason for refusal?

Failing to convince the embassy of your ties to Saudi Arabia, or weak financial standing. We strengthen your file before submission.

  • Does the application require a personal interview?

Not always — most applications are decided on the documents. Cases depend on the embassy's discretion.
